Slice of onam experience

 Hello friends,

I hope it’s okay to call you that—because today, I’m writing from a place of warmth and shared joy.

I want to share a little experience that blends tradition, taste, and a touch of sibling love. It’s about a no-fire chutney and the unforgettable memories I gathered thanks to my elder brother.

Our family recently visited God’s Own Country—Kerala—during the vibrant Onam season, for a very special occasion: my brother’s engagement! The event was beautiful, but oh, the food… it was divine. A traditional Onam sadhya was served, and I shamelessly went for seconds (okay, maybe thirds!). The flavors, the variety, the love in every bite—it was unforgettable.

A few days later, we were back at our house near the Nangiarkulangara Sri Krishna Swamy Temple. And today, I got to make mango coconut chutney with my mom—something we hadn’t done together in ages. This no-fire chutney, once a staple in Kerala households, is tangy, fresh, and full of old-world charm.

Since it’s my last day here, we spent the afternoon packing and doing a bit of shopping πŸ›️—trying to soak in every last moment.

That’s all for today. Thank you, dear friends, for reading and being part of this little memory.
